For current 8th graders in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year:
The purpose of the Cooper Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS) is to provide our students who have excelled in mathematics, science, and reading a high school curriculum rich with high level mathematics and science courses that will both challenge and prepare them for a post-secondary mathematics or science career. The CAMS program offers an unparalleled sequence of courses that specifically prepares for an engineering and medical path after high school. Students who enter this program will be surrounded by like-minded peers and partnered with a dedicated set of teachers to help push them to meet their full potential.
There will be a CAMS information session in the media center at Cooper High School on December 11 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Any student and parent interested in the CAMS program are welcome to attend. At the session you will learn more about the CAMS program, look at possible 4-year high school schedules, tour the school, and ask questions about Cooper and CAMS. Students will also get to participate in mini-labs in robotics, aviation, or medicine.
The application for the 2026-2027 school year is now available on line! Student applications and teacher recommendations are due by January 9, 2026.
